This is a painting by Dmitri Petrov called Prayer of an Expectant Mother. I don’t know why I’m so moved by this, but I am.

Why wouldn’t you be? I have looked at a lot of his work. From what I can see it appears to be a painting of his wife and son. His son appears in another work called “Christmas” that is just delightful, His wife is an amazing artist in her own right. The do quite a lot of genre and religious art. This painting really got my first blog moving.
It is a blessing, a beautiful blessing.

Why wouldn’t I be? Good point. I’m not sure it can be articulated better than that.

I am still in awe of this painting. I actually put it as the wallpaper on my computer. Every time I look at it, it speaks something new and refreshing. I love it how the candle lights up the womb. Where did you find this picture? I want to know because I want to see more like it.

Seraphim,
how do you get the image in your blog post to show fully, not be cut off, mine always are and then if one wants to click on it it will show it full size? I have looked through the faq on wordpress and cannot find this function anywhere?
Is it custom css?
Can you help me? We have the same template so I thought I would ask you…
